Morton Library Catalog Tutorial |
Three schools served by the Morton Library offer D.Min. degree programs, which require a written project report. The three schools use somewhat different terminology to identify these reports.
Use the Advanced Search screen to find these materials. You are able to enter a topical search term, such as counseling, in one of the search fields. Enter the name of the particular school's degree from the table above, as a second search term. Be sure to click on the Yes button beside Words adjacent. (Do NOT limit your search, because a D.Min. project is not cataloged as a thesis.) Then, click on Go. On the right side of the screen below the words No. of records, you can see that there are 1500 works in our collection about counseling, and there are 95 D.Min. projects produced by UTSV or Union-PSCE students. These sets are combined to yield five D.Min. projects in our collection about counseling -- note the number 5 beside the word Total. To view these records, click on that number. When you look at the Holdings information for these works, you see that there is one copy in our collection of each of them. These copies do not circulate, but must be used inside the Library. If you are searching for dissertations or theses submitted at other institutions (which will probably not be in our collection), you may search for those using ProQuest Dissertations and Theses, accessible through our Online Databases page. These are often provided in full text online, as PDF files. You may also find citations for such projects at Research in Ministry (RIM) online; texts may be available through the Theological Research Exchange Network (TREN).
The Certification Program in Church Business Administration that takes place at Union-PSCE also requires a written project report. To locate these in our collection, use the Advanced Search screen. You are able to enter a topical search term, such as disaster, in one of the search fields. Enter the words certification project as a second search term. Be sure to click on the Yes button beside Words adjacent. (Do NOT limit your search, because a CBA project is not cataloged as a thesis.) Then, click on Go.
On the right side of the screen below the words No. of records, you can see that there are 96 records in our collection containing the word disaster, and there are 127 CBA projects on all topics. These sets are combined to yield four CBA projects in our collection about disaster recovery and relief -- note the number 4 beside the word Total. To view these records, click on that number. When you look at the Holdings information for these works, you see that there is one copy in our collection of each of them. These copies do not circulate, but must be used inside the Library. |
