Booking media materials / Place a hold on a borrowed item / Request a recall
Look at the links at the top of the catalog screen. Click on the one that says My Library Account.
You will see the words Morton Library ADM (administration) - Library Card - and your own name. This page displays your own loan history, any holds or booking requests you have placed, your current loans, fines and so on. Further down the page, it shows your address, phone number, email, etc. You may use this page to make sure the Library has correct information about you. Find the little number next to the word Loans. Click on that number.
You receive a list of all of the items that are currently checked out to you, showing the date when they are due.
For more detail on any of these items, click on its little underlined number on the left side of the screen.
Once you are logged in to your own Library account, you may also place a renewal on an item that is checked out to you. Follow the instructions above for getting access to your own Loans page, then choose an item you wish to renew (by clicking on its little number on the left).
You should be able to renew this item for another loan period just by clicking on the word Renew. Unless there is some impediment (your patron profile does not allow renewals, a hold has been placed on the item by another patron, etc) the item will be renewed and assigned a later due date. You can also quickly renew all of the items you have borrowed. Look near the top of the Loans page, and choose Renew All. You also have the option of selecting specific items by clicking on the little box to the left of each item. A small green check will appear in each box. Then, choose Renew Selected.
For students, faculty and staff of Union-PSCE and BTSR who reside in the Richmond area : Before requesting an item, please be sure to search our catalog to determine whether the material you need is in our collection. Click on the words ILL Form in the upper right corner of the catalog search screen.
Complete one form for each book or periodical article that you need. Be sure to scroll down to the bottom of the form and enter your own contact information. Then, click SUBMIT. When the item you requested has arrived, we will email you and let you know that you can come and pick it up at our Circulation Desk. If the item is in a digital format (an e-journal article, for instance), we will attach it to your email or provide an online link to it. There is also a link on the ILL Form to our ILL FAQ page, providing detailed information about interlibrary loan policies and procedures. If you have any questions about this, please contact Lisa Janes, Public Services Specialist. For ECP and D.Min. students outside Richmond : When you need a book, the quickest and most convenient way for you to borrow it is to go to a public library where you live and request it on interlibrary loan through them. All public libraries are supposed to offer this service to their patrons. We do not borrow a book for you from another library and then re-mail it to you. If you need an article, you may request it by using the electronic ILL Form in our online catalog, as shown in the illustration above. If you have concerns or questions about this, please contact Lisa Janes, Public Services Specialist.
