Learning to use the Library's new online catalog

We are happy to announce that the Library is now able to offer an entirely new online catalog for access to our collection. It will be implemented in stages over the next few months, with some very interesting advanced features coming soon.

This tutorial will introduce you to some of the most useful features of the new catalog and will also alert you when new capabilities are added.

Access to the catalog

You can always reach our catalog from the Library's website at http://library.union-psce.edu. Click on the word CATALOG near the top of the screen, or choose the Catalog link under RESEARCH. You can also link to the login screen directly at http://morton.union-psce.edu:8991/F.

The Login Screen

It isn't necessary for you to log in simply to look up something in our catalog. You can just click on the Guest button and go directly to the first search screen.

If you decide to log in, you will have access to your own library account, so you can see how many books you have borrowed, their due dates, any fines or other messages, and you can renew your books if you wish. Also, logging in gives you access to any proprietary information (full-text materials, databases) that are available only to authorized users because of restrictions on our site license. For more information, see Access your own library account.

TO LOG IN : enter your library user Barcode in the first box. This number was given to you at our Circulation Desk when you first registered as a library patron; it's printed on the sticker on the back of your library card. In the Library PIN box, enter the first three letters of your last name. Then, click the Log On button.

Remember, you will need your card with the barcode on it in order to check out any materials from the Library. So be sure to bring it with you every time you come to the William Smith Morton Library.
