Get
Ready! Get Set! Worship! is a Presbyterian curriculum designed by four church
educators from the Presbyterian Church, and is published by Sharing Tree
Publications.
The
main goal, aims objectives and purpose

The
main goal of this curriculum is to provide education for pastors, educators,
parents, sessions and committees with a theological and Biblical
understanding of children involved in the worship experience.

This
curriculum aims at making the worship experience and the sacraments more
meaningful and inclusive for the variety of ages within the worshiping
community.

The
curriculum explores issues surrounding children in the worship experience
and gives suggestion to what churches might do to prepare children for
participation in the sacraments and worship.
The
Main Content
The
main content of this curriculum is to provide suggestion and resources for those
who are teaching the children about worship. It provides reproducible worksheets and games for the
children.
Organization
This
is a resource Book organized into five parts; each part is divided into
60-minute sessions. The resource
book provides a session outline, which includes: materials needed, preparation
to teach, arrival time, and group time. Session
may be taught in a variety of ways using learning centers, games, and
activities.

What
to purchase and cost:
The
cost for the three ring binder (when in publication) was $20.95.
Theology
-
The
curriculum believes that worship is the central act of the gathered
community of God. Therefore, as
children are, by their baptism, members of the people of God, they are to be
part of this central act. That
worship is the response of the whole people of God and that includes
children.

The
Curriculum believes that Baptism is the affirmation that the person belongs
to God and to the community of faith.

This
curriculum tells us that Holy Communion /the Lord’s Supper, is the gift of
God to assure us of God’s love, as the Lord’s Supper is celebrated we
receive the gift of Jesus Christ.
